Spring Has Sprung

We’ve got several projects underway as we welcome Spring at Noni Films & Media, and it just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t share it all with you!

  • First, we are celebrating Sara’s recent cover stories in the Maui Time Weekly. She highlighted two exciting community organizations on Maui, the Source Interactive Arts Festival and the Jungle to Jungle project, and got a positive response to both. She’s been a life long writer and contributor to organizational newsletters and blogs, but she’s found a new love in print! Expect to see more on the page from her in the near future!
  • The Plant A Wish U.S. tour is in the thick of strategic planning and about to launch a major fund raising push for the first leg of the tree-planting “road trip” and documentary project, which will covering the entire Northeastern United States in June. The Noni Films team is hitting the road, and you can learn more by visiting the project website at www.plantawish.org

New Video: “The Benefits of Planting Native Trees”

This educational video was written, shot in 24p on the Panasonic DVX-100B, and edited in Final Cut Pro – all in just 24 hours! Stars “Plant A Wish” project founder Joseph Imhoff, who also is a co-owner here at Noni Films & Media.

Shows what we can pull together for a good cause!

“CASE STUDY: Social Media Marketing for a Nonprofit”

Noni Films & Media has shifted into a higher gear lately. Over the last week, we’ve been multi-tasking, to say the least. We’ve been re-writing scripts and creating shotlists for the training video we’re about to shoot/edit for a local outdoor adventure company.  In addition, we were on a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles, to document the comeback of  a recording artist and performer as a new chapter in a documentary project we’ve been c0-producing with Ready Set Go! since 2002. Backstage moments, and full-coverage concert footage with a mixed audio line direct from the sound board. Big news after an almost 5-year break from filming.

jtojlogoWe’ve  also been spending time on behalf of Noni Films & Media as a media/marketing sponsor for The Jungle to Jungle Project. A traveling education and technology project down the Amazon River involving HD video, Twitter Feeds, and almost real-time blogging needs to come with it’s own instruction manual. It’s a book that is still being written as many new technology tools allow the modern nomad to stay in touch with his/her following, and organizations do their best to harness their inherent powers.

Speaking of books, using the word “following” evokes ideas from Seth Godin ‘s “Tribes” (recommended in audiobook form from audible.com). To put it in that context, we’re helping Jungle to Jungle connect with their tribe, whomever and wherever they might be, so that they can lead our global community to embrace exploration, the wonders of natural sciences, and technology.

Let’s see what we’ve learned: Continue reading

Sneak Peek Clip of the Week: Capoeira Demo at the Jungle to Jungle Fundraiser – Part 1

Last week, we decided to sponsor and assist a newly launched local nonprofit technology and education organization, and we’re excited to tell you about it. Our good friends and collaborators Amanda Wilson and Jill Pridemore are about to leave for the Amazon River for Jungle to Jungle , a “virtual expedition” program they’ve launched to help bring students of the world together as science and technology explorers.  (There’s more after the jump!)
