Last weekend, the crew at Noni Films donated a full day of documentary services to the awesome folks at Mana’o Radio during their annual music extravaganza/fundraiser festival BarryFest. BarryFest is an incredible event held in a gorgeous ampitheatre as a tribute to the late Mana’o Radio co-founder, Barry Shannon.
We had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with some of Maui’s most happening musicians. One group in particular – The Brown Chicken Brown Cow String Band – really stood out as a band to watch. They’re not residents, but they’ve been here on Maui for a while, and are staying for another couple of months. Then they’re off on a cross-country U.S. tour! Don’t miss them when they hit your neck of the woods!
Here’s a clip (shot in 24p) from their performance, an original song called “Gypsy Jig”.
nice footage , great sound , fantastic band and good folks !
I was unable to arrive at barryfest early enough to see B.C.B.C. string band … and enjoyed your footage .
I am in the Haiku Hillbillys who performed later that day .
Did you film the whole event and if so , where and how can I view any more footage ?
